Privacy Policy

By default, you are the only one with access to your practice and journal data.

All of your personal data (your profiles, practice sessions, journal entries, notes, recordings) are stored locally on your device and backed up to your private iCloud, meaning your information is completely private and only accessible by you by default.

Friend Sharing

The Friends feature is completely optional. If you opt in to the Friends feature, some data will be stored in Andante's server in order to be shared with friends:

- Friends data: Username and an optional profile picture will be visible to friends and anyone receiving your individual invite link.

- Session data: While signed in to an Andante Friends account, some data from new sessions are uploaded and only visible to friends. Title, duration, date, and profile icon are shared.

- You can stop using the Friends feature at any time by signing out. You can delete your Friends account to delete all your data from the server, while keeping your data locally.

Diagnostics

Apple collects error logs if you have chosen to allow it on your device. If allowed, Apple anonymously shares useful data to see what may have gone wrong.

In addition, Andante uses Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage information, like how often people use the metronome tool versus the timer tool, or how often people interact with journal entries. The exact values of these events (like contents of the journal) are never transmitted, and the events are always anonymous. The purpose of this is to help me make informed feature decisions based on how people use the app.

Lastly, Andante uses Sentry for anonymous crash diagnostics. This helps me fix crashes in the app.

Data Export

You have the option to export your practice data as a .csv file. This file contains your profile and practice data which can be manipulated or used in data analytics programs. The file is completely under your control and is only sent where you choose to send it when you export your data.
